Fast Learning with Concept MASTER

As I wrote in the post Importance of Quick Learning, in this era we are required to be able to learn quickly. Friday coincidence yesterday I attended a seminar with the theme of Individual Competitiveness in a World That Is Flat. There, the speaker (Sybase Singapore country manager) to discuss what things we need to succeed in the world that "flat" is. And he said that the most important capability is the ability to learn quickly.
Then how to learn fast? The concept quickly learned that I like is the concept MASTER books that I encountered in the Accelerated Learning for the 21st Century. MASTER term here is the acronym for Motivating your mind, Acquiring the information, out the meaning Searching, Triggering the memory, exhibiting what you know, and Reflecting what you've learned. The following information details:

1. Motivating your mind (to motivate the mind)

The first step in quickly learning is motivation. It is very important. How many people are trying to learn without motivation? They regard learning as a kind of "suffering". With attitudes like this are practically subconscious brain will reject the incoming information as it is considered negative! Obviously we will be very difficult to learn. Compare with motivated people, who consider it fun and exciting learning. In the subconscious brain will be happy to let the information to enter.

2. Acquiring the information (information)

There are three main learning styles are visual (by sight), auditory (through a hearing) and kinesthetic (through action). We're going more quickly capture the information that we learn in accordance with our learning style. Therefore we need to recognize the learning style that works for you and then practice it. The result is we will more quickly capture the information.

3. Searching out the meaning (to investigate the meaning)

Just let the incoming information is not enough. We must strive to find meaning from that information. It's like digesting the information coming to understanding the nature inside and out. So rather than just memorize facts, but keep going until its application to understanding the context and other things. How many people are just trying to memorize facts without understanding their meaning?

4. Triggering the memory (memory triggers)

Understanding the meaning is very important, but we also need to be able to remember facts. Many people who have a remarkable memory. For example there are Japanese people who memorize digits of pi to a thousand decimal places! CKA € | CKA € | (we usually only know the two numbers is "14" from "3:14"). There are many techniques that can help us remember the facts. Abbreviations such as "MASTER" is one of them. Would be far easier to remember the six steps Accelerated Learning when we use the abbreviation "MASTER".

5. Exhibiting what you know (show off what you know)

Exhibited here does not mean knowingly. What is meant is that we must try to share our knowledge to others. We share our knowledge to other people it will get even more! Believe it not? I myself have often proved this. For me, one application of this fifth step is to write a blog. What I can I share in the form of blogs. And the result is â € | amazing! I myself am much more understanding about the topic that was written. Especially if you get input from our friends in the form of comments:).

6. Reflecting what you've learned (reflecting on how you learn)

Well, this is the last step in the concept of MASTER. We must evaluate how we learn. Why? Because everyone has unique ways of learning that are different from others. We must develop a personal learning style that best fits us. And this should not be accomplished overnight. We must try, evaluate, repair what is missing, then tried again, and so on. By continuing to evaluate learning styles slowly we will become sharper and fit with us.
That six-step MASTER concept. I really like this concept and I learned to apply it, although still lacking here and there. In my opinion, these six steps are apt to learn faster.
